This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +3 more states.
• Evaluates and enhances tax returns while keeping abreast of the latest tax code modifications.
• Leads engaging client initiatives, particularly in Renewable Energy and Partnership taxation.
• Analyzes tax issues, drafts insightful memos, and refines client tax strategies.
• Provides guidance and mentorship to staff, establishes quality control protocols, and fosters business expansion.
• Manages the preparation and review of intricate partnership returns, ensures adherence to tax legislation, and formulates strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
• Cultivates client relationships, mentors team members, and remains informed on regulatory changes in taxation.
• Reviews individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns prepared by staff in collaboration with existing tax department supervisors and managers.
• Directs client engagements throughout the firm with an emphasis on Renewable Energy and Partnership taxation.
• Conducts electronic research on tax matters and prepares position memos for partner/client/IRS discussions.
• Streamlines client tax liability and credit reporting processes to alleviate tax burdens.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of tax code revisions, accounting procedures, and theories to accurately assess financial information.
• Acts as a mentor for staff, serving as a resource for inquiries related to technical, procedural, and professional matters.
• Prepares more advanced individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns.
• Develops and presents tax-related presentations to partners, clients, and team members.
• Facilitates training sessions for tax and A&A staff to keep the Firm informed on emerging tax issues.
• Actively participates in business development efforts, building relationships to enhance both personal and Firm growth.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• CPA or EA certification.
• Over 5 years of experience in public accounting.
• Experience in Renewable Fuels is advantageous.
• Proficient in technical research and writing.
• Strong leadership and motivational capabilities, with a background in training and mentoring team members under pressure or in complex scenarios.
• Excellent client service and relationship management abilities, with proficient and professional communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail skills.
• Ability to work autonomously while also collaborating effectively within a team.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, and Word.
