Systems/Network Administrator Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Oversee systems administration for enterprise operations, network functions, and operations and maintenance (O&M) tasks across the USMEPCOM enterprise.

• Act as the contractor's service owner for enterprise infrastructure services, ensuring systems consistently achieve set service level objectives.

• Plan, organize, and lead contractor personnel tasked with the operations and maintenance of networks constructed by USMEPCOM.

• Provide technical guidance for Windows and UNIX/Linux operating systems, physical and virtual servers, databases, VMware ESXi environments, Storage Area Networks (SANs), collaboration tools, enterprise applications, and cloud infrastructure.

• Execute system-level configuration, validation, integration, and administration of enterprise hardware, software, operating systems, and infrastructure platforms while ensuring compatibility with existing legacy systems.

• Drive engineering development, infrastructure integration, interface design analysis, software and hardware testing, and enterprise systems implementation activities.

• Implement Risk Management Framework (RMF) security principles, practices, and procedures to ensure compliance with Department of Defense cybersecurity standards.

• Head the Outage Response Team (ORT) and manage all activities related to enterprise outage response, incident management, disaster recovery, and Continuity of Operations (COOP).

• Serve as the main point of contact during enterprise outages, coordinating response efforts with Government leadership, vendors, DISA, external agencies, and other stakeholders.

• Direct, coordinate, and oversee outage resolution activities while providing timely updates to Government leadership throughout the incident response process.

• Create, maintain, and regularly update enterprise outage response procedures, Incident Response Plans, disaster recovery documentation, and operational playbooks.

• Conduct quarterly reviews of Incident Response Plans to ensure that system inventories, procedures, documentation, and operational processes remain up-to-date.

• Lead teams that are geographically dispersed, responsible for enterprise infrastructure operations, systems administration, and network support.

• Monitor enterprise performance, availability, and operational health while proactively identifying opportunities for infrastructure enhancements, automation, and operational efficiencies.

• Support cloud technologies, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), enterprise networking, firewall administration, secure communications, and initiatives for enterprise modernization.

• Promote continuous improvement while ensuring adherence to Federal Government, Department of Defense, and enterprise IT operational standards and best practices.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.

• At least five (5) years of recent experience managing enterprise IT teams across geographically dispersed locations, supporting the operations and maintenance of enterprise servers (both physical and virtual), operating systems (Windows and UNIX/Linux), databases, VMware ESXi, Storage Area Networks (SANs), collaboration tools, enterprise applications, scripting, and enterprise security.

• A minimum of one (1) year of recent experience in:

• - Leading network personnel and coordinating enterprise outage response procedures.

• - Supporting DISA network transport solutions.

• At least five (5) years of recent experience in:

• - Cloud-based enterprise solutions and cloud infrastructure.

• - Virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments.

• - Enterprise network and systems administration, including outage response and incident management.

• - Leading enterprise network operations teams for programs of comparable size, scope, and complexity to this Task Order.

• A minimum of six (6) years of recent experience supporting global enterprise network systems and subsystems, including LAN, WAN, MPLS, BGP, network availability, troubleshooting, and infrastructure optimization.

• At least three (3) years of experience in:

• - Supporting IPv4 and IPv6 protocol stacks.

• - Planning and executing local and long-haul communications.

• - Supporting and troubleshooting firewall appliances, firewall rulesets, and enterprise firewall solutions.

• Must possess or obtain all certifications required under DoDM 8140.03 Cyberspace Workforce Qualification and Management Program.

• Must hold an active ITIL® 4 Practice Manager Certification or ITIL® 4 Foundation Certification.

• Candidates lacking the following certifications must secure them within one month of hire. The company will provide sponsorship for certification training and examination costs as necessary:

• - Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification.

• - Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) or Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE) certification.

• - At least one information security certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)).

• - At least two network certifications (e.g., Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Network+).

• - DoDI 8570.01 Information Assurance System Architect and Engineer (IASAE) Level III certification.
