Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +13 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and maintain resilient, high-availability, and cost-effective LAN, WAN, WLAN, and SD-WAN solutions.

• Analyze, configure, and sustain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.

• Engage in capacity planning, traffic analysis, and performance tuning; propose upgrades and enhancements.

• Plan, execute, and document network modifications, upgrades, and maintenance while minimizing the impact on business operations.

• Monitor network health, proactively identify issues, and resolve them efficiently.

• Provide advanced troubleshooting for network and infrastructure challenges.

• Configure and maintain firewalls, site-to-site and user-based VPNs, Zero Trust solutions, and security appliances.

• Enforce network security policies and ensure secure connectivity to critical business systems.

• Assist with PCI compliance audits and remediation processes.

• Collaborate with IT and security teams on incident response and vulnerability management.

• Design, deploy, and support Voice, VoIP, and video conferencing solutions.

• Support phone systems, Microsoft Teams, and Slack from a network and connectivity viewpoint.

• Assist with virtual server environments, IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, QoS, and network segmentation.

• Work alongside development, cloud, and systems support teams on servers, applications, and endpoints.

• Utilize scripting, automation, and AI-driven tools to enhance network operations.

• Maintain network diagrams, documentation, standards, procedures, equipment inventory, licenses, subscriptions, and contracts.

• Engage with third-party vendors, carriers, and service providers.

• Enhance network reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.

• Support telecom rooms, server racks, UPS systems, and fiber/copper cabling infrastructure.

• Participate in occasional after-hours or on-call support.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• 3+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and supporting corporate network environments.

• Strong grasp of LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, VPN, and Zero Trust concepts.

• Practical experience with routing, switching, and wireless technologies, preferably Cisco and/or HPE Aruba.

• Experience with next-generation firewalls, remote access/VPN technologies, and network security best practices.

• Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S, SNMP, TLS, and OSPF or BGP protocols.

• Experience utilizing network monitoring and management tools.

• Familiarity with Active Directory, Azure Entra ID, and authentication services.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

• Customer-oriented mindset.

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Currently authorized to work full-time in the U.S.; SupplyHouse.com does not sponsor work visas.

• A thorough background check is required.

• Preferred: experience in e-commerce or high-availability networks; knowledge of GCP; networking experience with Microsoft 365; familiarity with endpoint security/EDR solutions such as CrowdStrike; expertise in AI-driven network management and automation; knowledge of Ethernet and fiber cabling; and relevant certifications from Cisco, Fortinet, HPE Aruba, or Microsoft.
