This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create and implement Mariner's comprehensive data strategy with a future-oriented approach that aligns with the firm's long-term business and technological goals.
• Define the enterprise data operating model, encompassing governance, ownership, stewardship, integration, access, protection, and lifecycle management.
• Assess the current enterprise data environment to identify opportunities for enhancing data quality, governance, interoperability, scalability, and business value.
• Convert long-term strategies into actionable, phased roadmaps featuring measurable milestones and business outcomes.
• Provide consultation on evaluating and onboarding new platforms and vendors, setting enterprise standards for data integration, ownership, governance, and interoperability prior to implementation.
• Establish enterprise standards for metadata, lineage, stewardship, classification, ownership, quality, access controls, and accountability.
• Define enterprise data domains, semantic standards, reusable data products, and unified business definitions that enhance consistency throughout the organization.
• Formulate governance principles that facilitate both human and AI-enabled interactions with enterprise data.
• Ensure that enterprise data is reliable, discoverable, auditable, and appropriately governed for operational, analytical, regulatory, and AI-enabled use cases.
• Set measurable criteria for data quality, completeness, consistency, timeliness, and fitness for purpose.
• Define enterprise standards for data integration, interoperability, orchestration, and information architecture across platforms and business functions.
• Advise on buy-versus-build decisions regarding enterprise data platforms, governance capabilities, integration technologies, metadata management, and orchestration tools.
• Develop reference architectures that ensure AI readiness, operational scalability, enterprise analytics, and future intelligence capabilities.
• Ensure that enterprise systems, workflows, and integrations facilitate the consistent, secure, and governed transfer of information across the organization.
• Define the enterprise data strategy necessary to support responsible AI adoption, automation, digital workers, and agentic workflows.
• Create governance models for reliable AI-enabled data access, permissions, semantic understanding, lineage, explainability, and auditability.
• Collaborate with Innovation, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Information Security, and business leaders to ensure AI initiatives are built on trusted, governed, and secure data foundations.
• Keep track of emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure Mariner's enterprise data strategy remains ready for the future.
• Work closely with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Audit, and Information Security to ensure enterprise data practices comply with applicable regulatory, privacy, cybersecurity, supervision, and records management requirements.
• Integrate regulatory and governance considerations into the enterprise data strategy from the beginning rather than as downstream review activities.
• Establish policies that govern data retention, privacy, access management, PII protection, auditability, and appropriate data usage among internal and external stakeholders.
• Build strong collaborations across Technology, Operations, Innovation, Business Intelligence, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Information Security, and business leadership.
• Recommend organizational structures, governance forums, stewardship models, operating rhythms, and decision-rights frameworks that enhance enterprise accountability.
• Lead through influence, credibility, and collaboration in a highly matrixed environment.
• Mentor enterprise architects, technical leaders, and governance stakeholders while promoting a culture that treats data as a strategic enterprise asset.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Data Management, or a related field.
• Over 12 years of progressive leadership experience in enterprise data strategy, data governance, enterprise architecture, platform strategy, or comparable executive technology roles.
• More than 5 years of experience leading enterprise-scale data modernization, governance, or transformation initiatives within complex organizations.
• Proven track record in designing or advancing enterprise data governance frameworks, stewardship models, metadata strategies, lineage, access controls, and enterprise data standards.
• Experience working in regulated industries with a robust understanding of privacy, cybersecurity, compliance, auditability, and risk management.
• Demonstrated capability to influence executive leadership and promote enterprise-wide adherence to governance standards, operating models, and organizational change.
• Strong comprehension of how trusted enterprise data enables AI, analytics, automation, and intelligent workflows.
