SVP, Corporate Legal

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Develop scalable legal operations, workflows, and governance frameworks that foster business expansion.

• Promote operational excellence in areas such as compliance, legal expenditures, litigation, and corporate governance.

• Collaborate with executive leadership to proactively recognize and address legal and operational risks.

• Enhance efficiency through standardized processes, comprehensive reporting, and cross-departmental collaboration.

• Ensure that the Corporate Legal department functions as a strategic, business-oriented entity.

⛳️ Requirements

• Education

• - Juris Doctor (JD) from a recognized law school.

• - Active bar membership in good standing is preferred.

• Required Experience:

• - 8–15+ years of legal expertise, particularly focused on legal operations, corporate legal management, or in-house counsel positions.

• - Proven experience in developing systems, processes, and governance frameworks within a legal department.

• - Knowledge in compliance, commercial litigation, vendor management, and corporate law.

• - Experience in private lending, financial services, fintech, or alternative finance is highly preferred.

• - Demonstrated capability to manage outside counsel and oversee legal expenditures.

• - Strong project management abilities with a holistic operational perspective and meticulous attention to detail.

• - Experience assisting senior leadership in operational, deputy, chief of staff, or business management roles.

• - Must be U.S.-based with a solid understanding of U.S. federal and state legal and regulatory frameworks.

• 💰 Compensation includes a base salary of ~$150,000, along with eligibility for incentive compensation (equity and deferred cash bonus), based on level and company policy.
