Surplus Lines Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage semi-routine tasks associated with surplus lines documentation.

• Collect, organize, and submit surplus lines filings through online platforms.

• Assist operational functions alongside branch offices and the accounting department.

• Support Surplus Lines teams during both internal and external audits.

• Act as a communication bridge between Underwriting, brokerage, and Operations teams.

• Aid in the implementation and monitoring of account processes.

• Stay updated on industry developments, company policies, and procedural modifications.

• Accurately complete surplus lines state tax returns using the appropriate state forms.

• Prepare checks and payment requests for surplus lines taxes, when necessary.

• Oversee policy filing systems and monitor essential dates and deadlines.

• Ensure that documentation is readily available for internal audits and external inquiries.

• Engage in customer outreach efforts as well as training and development opportunities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Surplus Lines.

• Experience in Business Operations is preferred.

• Understanding of surplus lines documentation and filing procedures.

• Proficiency in using online systems for retrieving, organizing, and submitting filings.

• Capability to complete surplus lines state tax returns using designated state forms.

• Ability to prepare checks and requests for tax payments.

• Competence in maintaining policy filing systems and tracking essential deadlines.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Operations, or a related field is preferred.
