This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Coding Specialists play a vital role within the CorroHealth Team.
• The Coding Team Member will deliver CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding for at least 1-4 specialties.
• Responsibilities include coding for Professional Fee surgeries.
• Specialties for Professional Fee coding may encompass General Surgery, Trauma, and more intricate surgical procedures.
• The Team Member must be capable of working from home and demonstrate independence in their coding competencies.
• Provide diverse coding services to support our clients effectively.
• Identify critical care cases based on patient acuity.
• Code surgical procedures typically encountered in an ER setting to maximize revenue capture when applicable.
• Assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes with the utmost specificity available.
• Accurately apply diagnosis and procedure codes utilizing ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT®, and HCPCS.
• Interpret coding guidelines for precise code assignment.
• Recognize the significance of documentation on code assignment and its impact on reimbursement.
• Adhere to AHIMA's Standards of Ethical Coding and the Company’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, supporting the Company’s Ethics and Compliance Program.
• Comply with all internal policies and procedures.
• All coders must possess certification from either the AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P).
• A minimum of 2 years of paid work experience in coding various types of surgeries is required.
• Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance is mandatory.
• Must have a working knowledge and experience with systems such as EMR, Billing, etc.
• A phone, reliable internet connection, and current coding materials including CPT and ICD-10-CM coding references are essential.
• An ongoing productivity level and accuracy rate of 95% or higher will be required.
• A quality score of 95% or higher must be maintained.
• Proficiency in Microsoft programs such as Excel and Outlook is necessary.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective and professional interactions.
• Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines is required.
