Multi-Specialty Professional Coder – Medical Oncology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Precisely code medical records related to evaluation and management services, ancillary services, surgical procedures, and diagnoses.

• Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and adhere to project deadlines.

• Remain informed about new coding regulations as codes are subject to frequent changes.

• Be responsible and accountable for protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility of safeguarded health information.

• Adhere to HIPAA security policies and procedures relevant to your role, and promptly report any suspected or actual violations or breaches.

• Generate coding reports for clients and the AAPC Services manager.

• Requires extended periods of sitting while utilizing a keyboard and mouse.

• Achieve and uphold departmental production and quality standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of coding experience is required.

• Extensive coding experience across various specialties, including all primary care fields, anesthesia, general surgery, dermatology, and orthopedics.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on meeting deadlines.

• Solid understanding of medical terminology.

• Proficient computer skills, including Excel, Word, and internet navigation.

• Capability to multitask while maintaining a sense of urgency.

• Outstanding customer service skills.

• Strong time management, organizational skills, and a solid work ethic.

• Certification Requirements: CPC or CCS-P, CPMA, CEMC preferred; COSC, CPCD, CEDC, CGIC, CGSG, CANPC, CHONC, CIRCC, COBGC, COPC preferred.
