Coder Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.

📋 Description

• Review and accurately assign codes for various professional services

• Ensure compliance with guidelines from Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party payers

• Allocate ICD-10, CPT, and/or HCPCS codes as necessary

• Assess medical documentation to ensure data integrity

• Engage with healthcare providers for clarification or to request additional documentation

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or its equivalent

• Minimum of 1 year of coding experience

• Valid certification from AHIMA or AAPC

• Proficient computer skills and dexterity for data entry tasks

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities

• Familiarity with Windows-based applications

• Understanding of ICD-9-CM, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and coding principles
