This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Take ownership of and oversee SBU-specific supplier development KPIs, which include both leading and lagging indicators to monitor supplier performance, risk, and maturity.
• Advocate for supplier development priorities during SBU staff meetings and ensure communication of strategic alignment.
• Lead and facilitate SBU tiered meetings by providing updates on supplier development initiatives, escalations, and their effects on critical programs.
• Align resource prioritization and supplier strategy with Value Stream Leaders and SBU stakeholders.
• Act as the primary representative for the SBU regarding supplier quality, delivery, and readiness concerns.
• Serve as an escalation point of contact for various teams.
• Act as a liaison between SBU operations and Global Supplier Development to guarantee smooth transitions, alignment, and effective feedback loops.
• Assist in SBU program planning to ensure that supplier capacity and development actions are in sync with execution or New Product Introduction (NPI) ramp-up timelines.
• Coordinate comprehensive supplier development strategies in collaboration with cross-functional program committees.
• Facilitate the creation of Supplier Development Plans within the designated SBU, working alongside Global Supplier Development and commodity leaders.
• Promote collaboration among Sourcing, Engineering, Quality, and Operations to enhance supplier performance.
• Provide support to suppliers as necessary, dedicating up to 50% of the time to this effort.
• A University Degree coupled with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 7 years of experience.
• Proven understanding of casting and/or forging products and their manufacturing processes.
• Established track record in cross-functional program leadership, KPI management, and handling escalations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and business acumen.
• Exceptional communication abilities.
• Demonstrated expertise in supplier management and business operations.
• Experience in supplier risk management, APQP, AS9100, or complex manufacturing environments.
• Solid understanding of supplier collaboration strategies, planning, and risk management frameworks.
• U.S. citizenship, U.S. person status, or qualifying immigration status is required to access information under the program/contract.
• Capability to support suppliers as needed for up to 50% of the time.
