This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Engage actively in project conceptualization, planning, and execution.
• Tackle challenging assignments by investigating and resolving electrical engineering and design challenges.
• Compile reports and assist in project deliverables to fulfill client specifications.
• Deliverables encompass Facility Studies, General Arrangement, Equipment Plans, Foundation Plans, Grounding and Conduit Plans, Equipment Connection Details, and Control Building Plans.
• Travel to client locations as necessary.
• A BSEE degree from an ABET-accredited electrical engineering institution.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in the physical layout and design of Transmission and Distribution Substations.
• Familiarity with physical design techniques, tools, and principles essential for creating technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and 3D models.
• Understanding of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the ability to connect various equipment to a technical design.
• Capability to prioritize tasks and manage several projects within budget and time limitations.
• Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Experience in evaluating design drawings produced by others.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• Competence in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation (preferred but not mandatory).
• Acquainted with Bentley Substation, BlueBeam, AutoCAD E or SDS design software (preferred but not mandatory).
• Ability to perform substation grounding calculations, direct stroke shielding calculations, battery & charger sizing calculations, etc. (preferred but not mandatory).
• Experience with Transmission Line and protection & controls (preferred but not mandatory).
• Familiar with ANSI/IEEE/NEMA standards relevant to physical substation design, including the National Electrical Safety Code (ANSI - C2) (preferred but not mandatory).
• FE or PE license (preferred but not mandatory).
