This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho, +1 more state.
• Serve as the initial point of contact for technology-related issues—diagnosing problems, researching solutions, escalating as necessary, and documenting each resolution (40%)
• Create, modify, and delete user accounts, roles, rights, and permissions across various systems, ensuring access policies are applied accurately and consistently (25%)
• Navigate seamlessly through a diverse range of applications, quickly learning unfamiliar tools and systematically reasoning through problems (15%)
• Write and update knowledge base articles, assist in building and maintaining the support website, and produce documentation that minimizes future support demands (15%)
• Enhance understanding of our platforms, investigate new technologies that could enhance service, and manage student and employee information in compliance with FERPA and BYU-Pathway policies (5%)
• Currently enrolled student in good standing, eligible for part-time student employment
• Technologically adept: Genuine comfort with a variety of software applications and the ability to learn new tools efficiently and independently
• Strong communication skills: Clear and patient written and verbal abilities—capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical users without using jargon
• Proficient keyboarding skills: Efficient and accurate typing for documentation and communication
• Problem-solving orientation: A logical, persistent, and resourceful approach to troubleshooting issues
• Dependability and autonomy: The self-discipline to manage your time and complete tasks remotely without close supervision
• Previous experience in help-desk, tech support, or customer service (preferred)
• Familiarity with the platforms we support, or with concepts related to user provisioning and identity/access (preferred)
• Experience in writing documentation or web content; interest in IT, information systems, or a related field (preferred)
• Acquire practical experience in administering enterprise platforms
• Develop transferable skills in technical support, access management, and documentation
