This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Execute finite element analyses (FEA) for complex dynamic structural applications, which encompass contact interactions, nonlinear material behaviors, transient heat transfer, and fracture mechanics, utilizing the explicit finite element software LS-DYNA.
• Develop finite element meshes for intricate geometries.
• Support test planning and analyze test data, with the potential to assist on-site during testing.
• Create digital twins of intricate structural tests, including test responses, data analysis, and comparisons with simulations.
• Conduct engineering analyses across a diverse range of structural projects.
• Recognize and assess new research and development opportunities with both government and industry partners.
• Participate in face-to-face meetings and prepare technical as well as cost proposals.
• A Master's degree from an accredited institution, focusing on Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Mechanics.
• At least 2 years of experience in finite element analysis (FEA).
• Proficiency with Hypermesh FEA model preprocessors, CAD software such as Solidworks, and the LS-DYNA FEA solver.
• Background in solid and/or liquid rocket propulsion.
• Familiarity with implicit structural dynamics.
• Experience with Unix/Linux/Windows operating systems and various computer programming languages.
• Capability to obtain a security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
• Proven exceptional writing, presentation, and communication skills.
