Strategy and Corporate Development Analyst

📋 Description

• Identify, research, screen, and monitor potential acquisition, partnership, and investment opportunities; create target lists, company profiles, and strategic rationales for presentation to senior leadership.

• Maintain a corporate development pipeline that includes target lists, research notes, outreach statuses, strategic rationales, and follow-up items.

• Assist with the early-stage assessment of potential opportunities, evaluating their strategic fit and alignment with the Institution’s M&A principles, market attractiveness, business models, risks, and potential for value creation.

• Support due diligence activities by organizing information requests, tracking outstanding items, summarizing findings, and coordinating inputs from internal and external stakeholders.

• Aid in the preparation of transaction-related materials, such as target summaries, diligence trackers, meeting notes, executive briefings, and recommendation memos.

• Acquire knowledge and provide support for basic financial analysis, valuation, business case development, and scenario analysis over time.

• Construct market maps that identify relevant companies, competitors, potential partners, acquisition targets, and emerging sector trends.

• Develop company profiles that summarize business models, ownership structures, leadership, market positions, products/services, growth indicators, strategic fit, and potential relevance.

• Keep track of pertinent news, transactions, investor activities, market shifts, and competitor actions.

• Perform research on industries, competitors, companies, market trends, student and workforce demand, partnerships, and M&A activities.

• Convert research findings into concise summaries, insights, and recommendations for senior leadership.

• Assist with enterprise strategy projects, growth initiatives, and special projects as required.

• Prepare presentation materials, research briefs, and analytical summaries for executive audiences.

• Coordinate follow-ups, workstream trackers, and project documentation across cross-functional initiatives.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, strategy, data analytics, or a related field.

• 1–3 years of experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, corporate development, investment analysis, FP&A, market research, business analytics, strategic finance, or similar analytical roles.

• Experience in supporting executive-level analyses, strategic initiatives, business case development, or cross-functional projects is preferred.

• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments with shifting priorities and ambiguous challenges.

• Basic understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, business models, and financial analysis.

• Strong research and analytical capabilities, including the ability to gather information from diverse sources and synthesize it clearly.

• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.

• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to create concise summaries, briefs, and presentations.

• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the capacity to manage multiple workstreams effectively.

• A keen interest in markets, companies, strategy, business models, and M&A.

• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

• Previous experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting, corporate strategy, FP&A, accounting, market research, or business analytics is preferred.

• Familiarity with creating market maps, company profiles, financial analyses, business cases, or executive presentations is preferred.

• Knowledge of financial statements, valuation concepts, corporate transactions, or M&A terminology is advantageous.

• Experience with CRM tools, Excel models, PowerPoint, or data visualization tools is preferred.

• Interest in further developing expertise in financial modeling, strategic analysis, and transaction execution.
