Strategic Finance Manager

📋 Description

• Build and oversee the strategic finance team for the Bank, offering strategic guidance, recruitment, and coaching as we establish this function.

• Manage the complete forecasting and budgeting process, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives during this essential startup phase. Conduct thorough financial analyses to support strategic decision-making.

• Create and sustain intricate financial models that facilitate strategic planning, scenario analysis, and forecasting for the Bank.

• Supervise capital stress tests and ongoing monitoring. Collaborate across functions to validate inputs, pressure-test key drivers, and ensure outputs reflect current business realities.

• Track performance against forecasts, analyze variances, uncover root causes, and deliver forward-looking insights to drive action.

• Provide decision-making support for strategic initiatives, assessing trade-offs and P&L implications. Convert complex analyses into clear, executive-ready narratives that drive insight, inform strategy, and align stakeholders.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams at Affirm, Inc. to integrate financial workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 8+ years of relevant experience in analytical roles (e.g., strategic finance, consulting, data science, or analytics), with a demonstrated impact on business results.

• Minimum of 5 years in a people management capacity.

• Proven capability to operate with ownership and influence in a dynamic, ambiguous environment, along with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong business acumen, with the ability to connect detailed analyses to broader strategic contexts and executive-level decisions.

• Experience in partnering with senior stakeholders and influencing decisions across cross-functional teams.

• Proficiency in financial modeling; familiarity with modeling tools and experience with data visualization tools is preferred.

• Understanding of fintech, lending, and payments business models is preferred.
