Storyteller – Health Communications Writer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ghana.

📋 Description

• Formulate a robust media relations strategy to enhance brand visibility and bolster the organization’s reputation.

• Create written and digital content for presentations and promotional events, including pitches, press releases, and talking points.

• Produce thought leadership articles for publication in strategic traditional and digital media outlets.

• Aid in the development of various campaigns that elevate brand awareness and promote individual products, services, and events at Smile Train.

• Assist in researching reporters, media outlets, and publicity opportunities to secure media coverage.

• Develop and maintain media lists, press contacts, and email distribution lists to cultivate positive relationships with traditional and digital media representatives.

• Regularly monitor, analyze, and communicate PR outcomes.

• Organize and coordinate events aimed at fostering relationships and creating positive impressions with the public and Smile Train’s ecosystem.

• Keep the PR team updated on industry trends that directly affect Smile Train’s operations and adjust strategies as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess knowledge and experience in communications, public relations, and/or marketing.

• A natural, empathetic storyteller with exceptional communication skills.

• Proven ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, multi-timeline environment with self-direction and minimal supervision.

• Demonstrated expertise in evaluating and implementing communication strategies within large organizations.

• Experience in designing and executing both short-term and long-term strategic marketing and/or PR plans.

• Ability to thrive under pressure and meet pressing deadlines.

• Capacity to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Public Relations, or a related field.

• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Corporate Communications or a related field.

• Fluency in both written and spoken English and French.

• Proficient in applications such as Microsoft Office.
