Storage and Backup Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide support for a legacy architecture (including server/host, Storage Area Network (SAN), and switches) while concurrently converting and supporting both existing and future Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) architecture.

• Oversee and maintain legacy backup solutions, SAN to tape operations, and HCI, while offering technical expertise to transition workloads from on-premises environments to cloud infrastructure.

• Monitor operations of the Storage System and ensure the availability of systems.

• Collaborate with network engineers and systems engineers to proactively enable the integration of storage array systems within the enterprise ICT infrastructure.

• Execute tasks related to storage provisioning and host integration.

• Serve as Level / Tier III support for the analysis, troubleshooting, and implementation of solutions pertaining to storage-related technical issues.

• Act as a technical resource in supporting storage systems for the implementation of storage service continuity solutions and facilitate effective data recovery in the event of a disaster.

• Engage with third parties involved in storage infrastructure projects to ensure a high standard of service delivery and to mitigate information security incidents.

• Assume the responsibilities of systems backup and recovery administrator, along with ownership of the data replication process.

• Develop and implement data storage management guidelines, policies, standards, procedures, and other documentation for DPKO and DFS field missions.

• Accountable for monitoring current storage usage and making recommendations for growth.

• Provide necessary training and support to missions in storage management, backup, and restore operations as needed.


⛳️ Requirements

• Public Trust Clearance must be obtained by the start date.

• Prior experience with Cohesity is required.

• Previous experience with Catalogic is essential.

• ITILv4 Foundation Training and ITILv4 Foundation Certification must be achieved within 120 days of hire.

• A bachelor’s degree along with 4 to 9 years of relevant experience.

• Experience in supporting industry-standard software products.

• Proven experience as a remote worker demonstrating effective time management and self-discipline.
