Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Facilitate discovery sessions with customer engineers to pinpoint the true bottlenecks and establish clear success metrics.

• Create and develop workflows powered by Cursor (e.g., extensive refactors, migrations, PR review cycles, incident resolution pipelines, and specifications to implementation systems).

• Deliver a rapid initial version within days, followed by refining it into a dependable solution over weeks with effective rollout strategies, monitoring, and iterations based on actual usage.

• Take ownership of production quality by managing tracing, evaluations, metrics, debugging model behaviors, balancing latency/cost considerations, and understanding failure modes.

• Collaborate directly with Staff+/Platform/Engineering leaders — diving deep into code while effectively communicating tradeoffs and outcomes.

• Transform your creations into reusable patterns and contribute enhancements back to the core Cursor product.

• You excel in ambiguous situations and can convert vague challenges into defined scopes and delivered systems.

• You have experience building and managing AI-native workflows in a production environment — not merely prototypes — and have addressed genuine model failures.

• You are at ease leading discovery discussions and take responsibility for customer outcomes.

• You handle end-to-end development. Whether it involves frontend, backend, infrastructure, or prompt iteration, you take ownership of the entire process.

• You have prior experience with production reliability (metrics, alerts, safe rollouts, and incident response).

• You possess strong skills in Python and TypeScript/JavaScript and can quickly adapt to new technology stacks.
