• Conduct plan reviews and material take-offs.
• Analyze architectural and structural drawings effectively.
• Generate precise material take-offs and quantity estimates.
• Measure steel framing, structural components, cladding, roofing, and fittings.
• Detect discrepancies, missing details, or gaps in scope.
• Ensure that the latest revisions of drawings are utilized at all times.
• Perform steel detailing for light gauge and cold-formed systems.
• Create detailed framing layouts, shop drawings, and schedules.
• Develop cutting lists, connection details, and installation references.
• Confirm that outputs are precise, constructible, and in line with project specifications.
• Update drawings based on feedback from engineers and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate and evaluate supplier quotes (for items such as doors, windows, cladding, and roofing).
• Validate quotations against drawings, specifications, and quantities.
• Identify discrepancies in scope, pricing, and underlying assumptions.
• Prepare comparative summaries for internal assessment.
• Input quantities into estimating and pricing templates.
• Ensure the accuracy of formulas, cost inputs, and version control.
• Highlight inconsistencies or missing pricing elements.
• Ensure alignment among drawings, supplier quotes, and estimates.
• Assist in the preparation and tracking of project documentation and submissions.
• Maintain checklists and monitor outstanding requirements, such as RFIs.
• Coordinate documentation efforts with engineers, draftspeople, and suppliers.
• Ensure the completeness and accuracy of submission packages.
• Maintain communication with engineers, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Address technical queries and follow through until resolved.
• Maintain clear and professional written communication at all times.
• Update and manage project data within CRM systems.
• Document project progress, supplier responses, and key updates.
• Ensure data accuracy and effective documentation tracking.
• Uphold a high standard of accuracy with zero preventable errors.
• Meticulously check all outputs, including quantities, drawings, and pricing inputs.
• Clearly document assumptions, exclusions, and uncertainties.
• Proactively address issues and avoid making unsupported assumptions.
• Experience in steel detailing, structural drafting, or construction estimating.
• Strong capability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
• Experience with material take-offs and quantity surveying.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (formulas, validation, templates).
• Familiarity with CAD/BIM or steel detailing software.
• High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
• Proficient written English communication skills.
• Ability to work remotely with international teams.
• Highly desirable: Experience in steel buildings, sheds, warehouses, or industrial structures.
• Background in light gauge or cold-formed steel systems.
• Experience with software tools like AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, FrameCAD, or similar.
• Understanding of supplier quote comparisons and construction workflows.
• Experience with CRM or project/document management systems.
• Qualifications: Degree or diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Drafting, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
• Or equivalent hands-on experience in steel construction, detailing, or estimating.
