This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct and evaluate income/franchise/gross receipts and sales/use tax nexus studies along with risk assessments to ascertain filing obligations, identify SALT risks, and maintain compliance.
• Create and assess voluntary disclosure applications, agreements, and associated documentation.
• Execute technical reviews of state income/franchise tax returns.
• Analyze and provide guidance on Public Law 86-272 and its implications for state income tax filings.
• Act as a technical resource for income/franchise/gross receipts tax inquiries from both internal and external clients.
• Advise internal and external clients on multi-state apportionment initiatives, encompassing cost of performance and market-based sourcing methodologies.
• Conduct SALT due diligence for both buy-side and sell-side clients.
• Be prepared to assist with sales and use tax issues, including taxability assessments, audit defense, and responding to inquiries from internal and external clients.
• Foster and maintain relationships with internal and external clients in a transparent and responsive manner.
• Partner with the SALT Practice Leader to establish and execute best practices and innovative tax strategies.
• CPA license or JD is highly preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience specializing in state & local tax within a public accounting environment.
• At least 5 years of progressive tax consulting experience across diverse industries is preferred.
• Previous experience in mentoring and training entry-level accounting professionals is required.
• In-depth understanding of state and local tax laws and principles.

• Ability to multitask while effectively prioritizing work responsibilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a solid focus on client service.
