Staff Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Assist customers throughout their API and AI governance lifecycle journeys.

• Engagements will involve remote delivery, leading both virtual and in-person technical workshops for customer architects, developers, as well as security and operations teams.

• You will take charge of designing and developing a comprehensive solution architecture, tackling technical challenges, and delivering hands-on technical implementation across the Kong platform.

• Collaborate with customers on projects, guiding them in the installation and implementation of Kong solutions within their selected environments—be it hyperscalers, hybrid, or on-premises.

• Facilitate customer discussions, steering outcome-driven professional services, and offering technical thought leadership throughout the customer adoption journey.

• Work in conjunction with internal teams including product engineering, customer success, and account management to guarantee that our customers derive maximum value from their Kong investment.

• Have the chance to develop reusable tools, create technical documentation, white papers, reference architectures, blogs, and design patterns based on customer experiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in customer-facing technical roles (professional services/product support).

• Hands-on experience with the implementation of API gateways and integrations.

• Familiarity with the API governance lifecycle.

• Experience in building infrastructure using VMs or Kubernetes containers.

• Understanding of DevOps, Security, and Networking fundamentals.

• Proficiency with Linux, Cloud, and Development tools.

• Strong skills in Kubernetes.

• Experience with major cloud service providers (GCP, AWS, Azure).

• Application development experience is preferred.

• Previous experience in Open Source, API Management, Middleware, or SaaS software companies.

• Software development experience in Java, Python, or Lua.
