Staff Software Engineer – Web Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• In the role of Staff Engineer, you will serve as a technical leader and active builder across the complete technology stack.

• Collaborate closely with product management and design teams to shape the system architecture and propel a dedicated team toward significant milestones.

• Develop backend services that facilitate collaborative editing, conflict resolution, and content delivery.

• Create frontend systems that support visual, real-time editing experiences.

• Establish engineering standards, assess third-party services, and influence technical decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of comprehensive software engineering experience, demonstrating a solid history of ownership throughout the entire product lifecycle.

• Authentic full-stack proficiency — you have successfully launched production systems on both the backend (APIs, data services, cloud infrastructure) and frontend (interactive UIs, component systems, browser performance).

• Experience with real-time or collaborative systems — including content editing, multiplayer applications, event-driven architectures, or live data synchronization.

• Proficient in cloud-native environments: you are adept at designing and managing services in GCP, AWS, Cloudflare, or Azure, with a background in containerization and modern deployment pipelines.

• Strong API design skills: you possess well-founded opinions about REST, GraphQL, and event-driven interfaces — and understand when to utilize each approach.

• Expertise in frontend architecture: you have a deep understanding of component modeling, state management, rendering performance, and the browser platform, surpassing mere familiarity with frameworks.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent hands-on experience.
