Staff Software Engineer – Node.JS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Slovakia.

📋 Description

• Participate in and guide decisions regarding major capabilities, assisting teams in converting business and product requirements into clear and actionable technical roadmaps.

• Act as a product-engineering subject-matter expert (SME) within the domain, aligning capabilities into well-defined areas and ensuring they provide necessary business and product services on the broader technical platform.

• Lead by example through active coding, developing new capabilities or enhancing existing ones, and promoting the adoption of best software engineering practices while consistently mentoring and guiding teams.

• Take ownership of comprehensive product features, including all operational elements, ensuring business and product scalability and reliability.

• Design the complete technical architecture, delivering high-quality, maintainable systems and APIs across various domains.

• Clearly communicate complex solutions to stakeholders both within and outside the area, while fostering a strong product engineering culture across teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in delivering large-scale, customer-facing software, with a key focus on backend services and the integration of applications and data.

• Proven success in applying Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles and an API-first approach on multi-tenant platforms.

• A strong background as a full-stack engineer, consistently applying best-practice design principles such as SOLID, GRASP, and common design patterns.

• Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js is preferred, along with high skill in at least one backend programming language (e.g., Java, .NET/C#, Kotlin, Python, or Go).

• Established product engineering mindset capable of translating requirements into clear technical designs, creating well-defined roadmaps, and delivering high-quality implementations.

• **Bonus points for:**

• Knowledge of AWS Cloud design principles and infrastructure.

• Experience with LLM.
