Staff Software Engineer – K9 Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Oversee the architecture and development of security agent functionalities that enable runtime threat detection and workload protection across Datadog Security offerings.

• Create and implement reusable eBPF-based monitoring capabilities for process, file, and network visibility within Linux environments.

• Manage the complete delivery of new features, encompassing technical strategy and design through to implementation, testing, and deployment.

• Develop and refine testing methodologies that enhance platform coverage, detection quality, reliability, and performance.

• Collaborate with product, security, infrastructure, and engineering teams to provide shared platform capabilities utilized across various Datadog products.

• Offer technical leadership by shaping engineering direction, mentoring colleagues, and aiding in the resolution of complex cross-functional issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• You possess extensive experience in software development within Linux environments, including a strong understanding of Linux internals, kernel APIs, or systems programming.

• You have practical experience with eBPF, kernel-level instrumentation, driver development, networking systems, agent development, or similar low-level technologies.

• You have designed and managed systems where performance and reliability are crucial.

• You are experienced in building and maintaining production software across various Linux distributions and kernel versions.

• You are product-oriented and customer-centric, adept at balancing technical excellence with customer impact and usability.

• You have exhibited technical leadership, influencing architecture and execution across teams while effectively communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
