Staff Software Engineer – Identity and Access

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Establish the technical vision for authentication systems

• Lead intricate projects from initial concept to final delivery

• Work closely with engineering leadership and product management teams

• Define and take ownership of the technical architecture for authentication systems

• Guide and foster the growth of senior engineers

• Act as a technical authority on identity protocols

• Facilitate cross-team technical alignment regarding authentication standards

• Represent Grafana Labs at industry meetups and conferences

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive, proven expertise in distributed systems engineering using Go

• Proven ability to independently define technical direction and drive architectural decisions

• Significant experience in building and maintaining low-latency, high-throughput services

• Demonstrated success in leading and delivering complex, multi-quarter projects

• Capability to mentor and develop senior engineers

• Strong understanding of SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

• Expert-level knowledge of contemporary identity standards and threat models
