Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Become a member of the essential Agent Team, which drives Automox's capability to manage millions of devices globally.

• Contribute directly to the Automox Agent, the vital and lightweight software component installed on our customers' endpoints.

• Design, develop, and enhance the cross-platform Automox agent (Windows, macOS, Linux) to guarantee minimal resource consumption and superior system reliability.

• Create secure and robust communication pipelines that enable the local agent to effortlessly receive commands and transmit telemetry to our cloud services.

• Address distinctive, system-level challenges at the endpoint, ranging from native OS process management to secure and isolated execution environments.

• Function within a dedicated Agent Pod, working closely with cloud infrastructure and platform teams to deliver comprehensive end-to-end features.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience with both Go and Java, with strong proficiency in at least one of these languages.

• 3 to 5 years of experience in designing, developing, testing, and monitoring applications within a high availability SaaS environment.

• A solid understanding of resource-constrained environments and expertise in system-level performance optimization.

• A keen interest in cross-platform edge development and experience navigating the distinct behaviors of various operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS).

• Experience or a strong interest in how local client software interacts securely and efficiently with large-scale cloud backends.

• Experience in Secure Coding practices, including familiarity with OWASP, Vulnerability Assessments, Threat Modeling, Secure Code Review, Penetration Testing, Data Protection, Encryption, and Authentication & Authorization, or similar secure coding experience is highly preferred.

• Background in building production applications within cloud environments (AWS or GCP) with a strong focus on security best practices.

• Experience as a Software Engineer on applications requiring continuous client connectivity is desirable.

• Enjoy scaling microservice architectures and large-scale event ingestion platforms, with knowledge in scaling websockets, real-time messaging systems (Kafka, MQTT), non-relational database systems like DynamoDB, networking, and DevOps.

• Exceptional communication skills, thriving in a close-knit, cross-functional remote team setting.

• Effective collaborator working alongside other engineers, Product Managers, Program Managers, and Technical Support.
