This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the pursuit of front-end excellence within Growth Engineering by developing fast, accessible, and visually appealing experiences that embody the Hims & Hers brand and delight users at each touchpoint.
• Advocate for UI performance, accessibility, and responsiveness by establishing measurable standards (e.g., LCP, CLS, interactivity) and collaborating with teams to achieve premium metrics that enhance conversion and engagement.
• Direct cross-team initiatives from initiation to execution, coordinating stakeholders, managing risks, and ensuring the achievement of key success indicators.
• Act as the responsible technical leader for key systems or domains, taking ownership of both system outcomes and long-term development.
• Demonstrate principled decision-making by balancing immediate delivery with the long-term health of systems and organizational scalability.
• Promote cross-functional alignment, ensuring that the technical direction is closely tied to product strategy and roadmap priorities.
• Oversee architectural design and evolution for systems that span multiple teams, ensuring that abstractions align with long-term scalability and business objectives.
• Elevate code quality and engineering standards, guaranteeing that all solutions are robust, testable, observable, maintainable, secure, and scalable.
• Develop and advocate for shared architectural patterns, tools, and infrastructure that enhance engineering efficiency and velocity across teams.
• Engage in product discovery sessions to evaluate feasibility, understand user needs, define product features, and validate concepts with prototypes and experiments.
• Proactively identify systemic risks and lead the design and implementation of resilient, observable, and scalable solutions.
• Mentor senior engineers, nurturing a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
• Facilitate technical discussions and offer insights as a member of our technical advisory group to guide and provide feedback on key decisions, shaping the growth engineering strategy and roadmap.
• Foster a mindset of operational excellence through ongoing improvement and learning.
• Analyze performance metrics and user feedback to steer technical direction and product enhancements, ensuring a seamless user experience.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance our engineering processes and product offerings.
• 12+ years of experience as a software engineer, delivering production code.
• Demonstrated success in leading complex projects and executing cross-team initiatives effectively.
• Extensive architectural knowledge in designing scalable, resilient, and maintainable systems in a contemporary software setting.
• Proficient in modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Next, GraphQL) and libraries, along with backend technologies (e.g., Node.js, Python).
• Expertise in operational excellence, encompassing observability, incident response, reliability engineering, and risk management.
• Outstanding problem-solving abilities and the capacity to think critically and strategically in a fast-paced context.
• Skilled in aligning engineering efforts with product and business objectives, influencing roadmap priorities with a focus on long-term scalability.
• Comfortable navigating high levels of ambiguity and empowering teams to execute effectively in dynamic or uncertain environments.
• Exceptional communication and leadership capabilities, with the ability to influence a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Proven history of making an impact and influencing without authority across teams and the organization.
• Able to prioritize multiple projects to meet objectives without needing management oversight.
• Experience in introducing new architecture and design concepts, including coaching, adoption, and implementation within your domain in alignment with organizational tech strategies.
