This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.
• Develop and deploy customer-oriented features and enhancements across the entire technology stack.
• Take ownership of intricate technical projects from the initial design phase to production deployment and subsequent operations.
• Provide technical guidance on architecture, APIs, data models, infrastructure, reliability, and engineering methodologies.
• Write production-level code, engage in code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and make direct contributions to systems.
• Establish strategies for rapid iteration, AI evaluations, regression testing, monitoring, and assessing AI feature quality.
• Enhance code quality, developer experience, testing, observability, performance, reliability, and operational effectiveness.
• Mentor and guide engineers while offering constructive feedback.
• Design practical systems that accommodate future growth and complexity.
• Optimize AWS infrastructure, deployment workflows, CI/CD processes, observability, security protocols, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Engage in selected customer discussions to grasp requirements, investigate issues, gather insights, and convert needs into technical solutions.
• Collaborate with product, design, customer-facing teams, and various stakeholders.
• Decompose ambiguous problems into actionable plans and clearly communicate technical trade-offs.
• Ensure reliable, maintainable, measurable, and successful outcomes in production.
• 8–10+ years of professional experience in software engineering, including roles as a senior or technical lead engineer.
• Extensive full-stack engineering expertise, with proficiency in both frontend and backend development.
• Robust experience with React and contemporary frontend development methodologies.
• Strong background in developing backend services and APIs using Python.
• Significant experience in designing, deploying, and managing systems on AWS.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, networking, containers, CI/CD, observability, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Practical experience in building AI/LLM systems in production or near-production settings.
• Knowledge of prompt engineering and prompt iteration, including crafting prompts for reliability, consistency, and structured outputs.
• Experience in creating or utilizing LLM evaluation frameworks, including test datasets, quality metrics, regression evaluations, human review, or automated judging methodologies.
• Strong grasp of distributed systems, APIs, databases, system architecture, performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Experience in making architectural decisions and assessing technical trade-offs.
• A proven history of delivering significant features and systems to production.
• Experience in mentoring engineers and guiding technical direction without relying on formal authority.
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills across application and infrastructure layers.
• Ability to function effectively in environments where requirements may be fluid or unclear.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage effectively with customers and bridge technical and business needs.
