Software Engineer Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Engage in all stages of software development, from requirement definition to production releases.

• Collaborate within a cross-functional team that includes analysts, developers, product managers, and quality assurance professionals.

• Create and develop web applications and APIs that enhance efficiency and productivity for business partners and customers.

• Participate in solution design discussions with Software Engineers, Business Analysts, users, and Quality Assurance Analysts.

• Contribute as a member of an agile team utilizing modern technologies.

• Implement SOLID principles and adopt test-driven development methodologies.

• Accomplish development tasks in accordance with project priorities and timelines.

• Create automated tests to facilitate ongoing regression testing.

• Gain experience throughout the phases of requirements, design, development, testing, and production releases.

• Take charge of real projects and work collaboratively with various teams across the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science and Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• Familiarity with .NET, C#, T-SQL, and Microsoft Visual Studio.

• A strong passion for software development and an eagerness to learn about modern technologies.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen focus on software quality.

• Capacity to take ownership, fulfill commitments, and contribute effectively in a team-oriented environment.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Applicants must have authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis.

• Preferred: Familiarity with agile methodologies, Scrum, or Lean practices.

• Preferred: Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular using TypeScript.

• Preferred: Experience with Entity Framework 6.0 or later.

• Preferred: Experience with ASP.NET Web API 2.

• Preferred: Experience utilizing dependency injection frameworks and writing unit tests.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Azure DevOps or Visual Studio Team Services and Git.

• Preferred: Exposure to messaging technologies like RabbitMQ or MSMQ.

• Preferred: Understanding of software design patterns such as Strategy, Abstract Factory, Singleton, or Adapter.
