Staff Software Engineer – Databases

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sweden.

📋 Description

• Lead technical initiatives spanning multiple quarters across various components.

• Take ownership of the architecture for core Tempo components.

• Design APIs that cater to both humans and agents.

• Promote operational excellence in alignment with specific SLOs.

• Mentor engineers and actively contribute to open source projects.

• Collaborate effectively with product and engineering teams.

• Engage in on-call duties and incident response activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in technical leadership.

• Extensive knowledge of distributed data systems.

• Proficient in Go or other system programming languages such as Rust, C, or C++.

• Strong commitment to software craftsmanship.

• An operational mindset with a focus on customer needs and practicality.

• Effective leadership demonstrated through writing and collaborative efforts.

• Familiarity with tracing, OpenTelemetry, or large-scale observability systems is a plus.

• Experience managing multi-tenant, multi-cell SaaS infrastructure at scale on Kubernetes is a bonus.
