This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Enhance and evolve the company's comprehensive data infrastructure.
• Develop infrastructure and tools related to data.
• Work alongside various teams to improve and optimize their data utilization.
• Plan, define, and execute large-scale projects in conjunction with the team lead.
• Partner with engineers to boost team efficiency and delivery timelines.
• Assist in outlining the team’s technical roadmap aligned with strategic engineering objectives.
• Mentor and nurture other engineers, contributing to the development of the company’s engineering culture.
• Oversee intricate initiatives from requirement gathering and thorough system design through to deployment.
• Assess related technologies and collaborate with stakeholders effectively.
• Construct scalable data infrastructure while enhancing the developer experience.
• Manage data cataloging, versioning, and lineage for both research and production workflows.
• Offer technical expertise to both engineering and research personnel.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Engineering (or an equivalent field).
• Over 8 years of pertinent software engineering experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in software design and implementation with a focus on correctness, robustness, efficiency, and scalability.
• Experience with substantial codebases and the development of modular, extensible, and maintainable software.
• Proficient in a modern programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or C++.
• Practical experience in a Linux/UNIX environment.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable services and APIs, high-availability systems, and/or large-scale data infrastructure.
• Familiarity with data storage and management technologies such as PostgreSQL, Artifactory, Ceph, or Redis.
• Strong communication abilities with a knack for conveying complex concepts in a clear and straightforward manner.
• Preference for familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Preference for familiarity with Iceberg, BigQuery, Snowflake, DynamoDB, Trino/Athena.
• Preferred experience in constructing data platforms with a focus on developer experience.
• Preference for familiarity with Airflow or Slurm.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
