Geospatial Data Engineer – Customer & AI Solutions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Implement and tailor geospatial methodologies across various sectors on a large scale.

• Collaborate with geospatial, climate, satellite imagery, and additional datasets.

• Contribute to project deliverables, including analytical outputs, documentation, and reports.

• Participate in client-facing project discussions alongside a project manager.

• Utilize VIDA’s software platform as part of project execution.

• Enhance agentic AI capabilities for both internal and client-facing applications in collaboration with the senior ML engineer.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree and/or relevant professional experience in geospatial data engineering, data science, computer science, AI, or a related technical or scientific discipline.

• 2–5 years of experience integrating software/data engineering with geospatial applications.

• Preferably, experience in climate, energy, and/or infrastructure sectors.

• Proficiency in Python programming.

• Background in software engineering, including the latest advancements in agentic development and geospatial data engineering.

• A genuine passion for utilizing and developing AI tools.

• Some experience in delivering technical solutions within client projects and adapting to changing priorities and timelines.

• Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and contribute to client discussions and deliverables.

• Comfortable transitioning between projects across different sectors and adapting to broader technical development as priorities change.

• Bonus: Experience with GCP, geospatial tools, climate/natural hazard modeling, in-depth knowledge in one of VIDA’s core sectors, and additional software/data engineering expertise.
