Staff Software Engineer, Data and Partner Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Provide technical leadership and strategic vision.

• Facilitate coordination among engineering teams to ensure alignment on technical direction, standards, and best practices.

• Cultivate in-depth expertise in utility programs, demand responses, and the lifecycles of Distributed Energy Resources (DER).

• Work closely with product and engineering leadership to establish business-driven and team-driven priorities.

• Design and implement scalable systems capable of processing billions of data points.

• Create and develop integrations with partner APIs.

• Manage investigations from initial alert through to resolution.

• Develop operational scripts, runbooks, and detection tools.

• Foster and maintain strong relationships with partner teams.

• Mentor and support the development of engineers within the team and the broader organization.

• Enhance product quality by creating new features and refining existing ones.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of professional software engineering experience with proven staff-level responsibilities or equivalent scope.

• Demonstrated full-stack engineering expertise with experience in scaling distributed systems and designing well-architected microservices.

• Strong knowledge of gRPC/protobuf, RESTful APIs, and contract-driven development across multi-repository service architectures.

• Solid understanding of the differences between OLAP and OLTP relational databases.

• Practical experience in planning and executing high-performance data processes using both types of databases.

• Proven experience in integrating complex partner and third-party APIs, as well as building and maintaining file-driven data pipelines.
