
Staff Software Engineer β Consumer Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Spearhead the implementation of the most intricate technical projects within the team, establishing the engineering benchmarks and pace for others to emulate.
β’ Oversee the technical design and architecture of complex features, documenting systems, evaluating tradeoffs, and ensuring that solutions are maintainable, scalable, efficient, and ready for production (including observability, alerting, and web performance).
β’ Guide and elevate engineers through constructive code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge transfer; champion and enhance the team's technical best practices.
β’ Collaborate with the Engineering Manager (EM) and Product Manager (PM) to jointly outline significant work tracks, decompose business requirements into technical specifications, and assist the team in meeting deadlines. Actively manage stakeholder relationships, communicate effectively with upper management, and foster cross-team influence.
β’ Engage in the teamβs Pod Lead rotation, addressing incidents, fulfilling stakeholder needs, and being on-call via PagerDuty for a week at a time (approximately once every 4-6 weeks).
β’ 8-10+ years of software engineering experience as a full-stack web developer with a preference for frontend development.
β’ Experience in production environments at scale.
β’ Extensive knowledge of React, TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js.
β’ Practical experience with observability tools (such as DataDog or similar).
β’ Comprehensive understanding of web performance (Core Web Vitals, caching, critical rendering path, static generation).
β’ Experience in developing REST APIs, GraphQL schemas, and leveraging cloud services (Vercel & AWS or similar: GCP, Azure, etc.) to create backends and data systems.
β’ Familiarity with AI software-development tools like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, etc., to expedite development processes.
β’ 1-2+ years of experience in a technical lead role.
