Staff Software Engineer, Cloud Data Storage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and develop distributed data systems – create APIs, schemas, and replication paths that ensure petabytes of workflow history remain durable and queryable. Thoroughly document design decisions and operational knowledge to effectively deploy and maintain services with these features.

• Enhance reliability and performance – take ownership of SLOs, devise chaos-test plans, profile critical paths, and lead incident reviews.

• Provide technical leadership – decompose roadmap epics, mentor mid-level engineers, and guide design documents through the RFC process.

• Foster cross-team collaboration – collaborate with the Server, Cloud, and DX teams to implement features from start to finish.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5 or more years of experience as an "Arranger" and/or "Builder/Enhancer" of highly scalable distributed systems.

• Strong foundational knowledge in computer science principles related to distributed systems, including multi-threading and concurrency.

• Proficient in writing concurrent code in a production environment using languages such as Go or Java, or other relevant languages, with skill levels categorized as "high end of Intermediate," "Advanced," or "Expert."

• Experience in developing and managing services on AWS. Bonus: Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and Google GCP.

• Knowledge of Elastic Search and/or Clickhouse.
