This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Guide the technical vision for some of Tines' most essential systems.
• Implement meaningful changes in our codebase within your first week, with the ability to see them live in production shortly after merging.
• Influence how jobs and code are executed at the core of our application, enabling us to support the world’s most significant workflows.
• Write and review high-quality, thoroughly tested code to ensure we deliver a stable product for our customers and maintain a stress-free codebase for our team.
• Identify opportunities for enhancement, both in our codebase and in our workflows, collaboratively taking on the responsibility of improving our team.
• Take ownership of the challenges you address and the software you develop to resolve them, extending your responsibility to production and beyond while responding to customer feedback to enhance those solutions.
• Leverage your expertise to mentor fellow engineers within our team, offering support and guidance to foster their growth.
• Typically possess over 10 years of professional experience as a software engineer.
• Demonstrated success as a staff software engineer.
• Expertise in Linux systems, including namespaces, file descriptors, Unix sockets, mounts, networking, and process isolation.
• Familiarity with container runtimes, orchestration, or platforms for code execution.
• Experience with filesystems and storage, including POSIX behavior, content-addressed storage, and crash recovery.
• Proficient in building and managing low-level system primitives in Rust or Go.
• Strong debugging abilities: capable of creating targeted reproducers for complex kernel, runtime, and storage problems, and utilizing logs, traces, metrics, and tests to identify root causes.
