Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and enhance backend services and APIs that facilitate ad delivery.

• Engage with scalable, highly available systems within Unity’s advertising ecosystem.

• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data teams to implement new features.

• Enhance the performance, observability, and cost-efficiency of backend systems.

• Upgrade the existing technology stack to modern standards.

• Participate in architectural decisions and influence the technical direction of the platform.

• Construct real-time systems that drive Unity Ads’ global advertising platform.

• Manage ad requests, impression tracking, user data analytics, ad delivery, bidding, reporting, and analytics.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in building scalable backend services.

• Expertise in Golang and relational databases like MySQL.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and observability tools such as Kubernetes and Ray.

• Strong understanding of API design, distributed systems, and system reliability.

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills within a remote-first team environment.

• Proficient in English for effective professional verbal and written communication.

• Experience in ad technology, programmatic advertising, or real-time bidding systems.

• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.

• Familiarity with networking, caching, or real-time data pipelines.
