Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create impactful full-stack features that enhance the experience for Medicare brokers and beneficiaries, while establishing high-quality standards for team development.

• Collaborate closely with product and design leadership to define project scope, highlight tradeoffs, and influence decisions on the roadmap.

• Take ownership of system-level decisions within your product area, driving essential system and architectural choices that ensure our platform delivers elegant solutions to customer challenges.

• Identify systemic sources of technical debt and manage their resolution, balancing immediate velocity with the long-term health of the platform.

• Develop and refine engineering standards - from code review practices to system design principles - by leading through example and mentoring fellow engineers.

• Utilize modern AI-powered developer tools that reduce friction, allowing you to concentrate on significant challenges, while contributing to our ongoing growth in their application across the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional experience in either modern JavaScript (Vue, React) or Python/backend web development, with substantial hands-on expertise in both areas.

• Ability to navigate ambiguity and excel in fast-paced environments.

• Strong product intuition and a proven history of linking technical investments to business outcomes, influencing roadmap decisions prior to execution.

• Proficiency with AI-powered development tools as an integral part of your daily workflow.

• Excellent communication skills - capable of conveying complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.

• Proven experience in guiding architectural decisions at the domain level and delivering customer-facing products with technical excellence.
