This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Engage as both a designer and developer in the creation, coding, and deployment of software for Android, Linux, DSP, and DPS systems.
• Participate in vendor discussions to provide guidance on future audio roadmap strategies and initiatives.
• Direct vendors towards optimal designs that align with targeted hardware specifications.
• Involve yourself in the design, implementation, and integration of DSP modules.
• Focus specifically on the design and implementation of audio processing, noise management, noise cancellation, in-car communication, source routing, TDM routing, upmixers, and early audio playback offloading to ARM SoC or neural networks.
• Contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of upcoming infotainment software.
• Take part in feature requirements analysis and review of test-case designs.
• Engage in feature prototyping, testing, and refinement processes.
• Work on improving and customizing existing drivers and stacks to meet our requirements.
• Drive audio hardware bring-up activities, including the validation of low-level electrical systems.
• Offer guidance and training as necessary to both junior and senior engineers in DSP development.
• Deliver clear and comprehensive documentation in accordance with the established software development process.
• Collaborate with fellow engineers through the Scrum/Agile development methodology.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Ten (10) years of experience in roles such as Senior Software Engineer, Software Project Lead Engineer, Technical Specialist, Senior Software Design Engineer, Senior Member Technical Staff, Senior DSP Software Engineer, or similar positions.
• Alternatively, a Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field, along with eight (8) years of experience in similar roles mentioned above.
• Eight (8) years of experience in the following areas: Designing and developing in C; DSP development; DSP hardware including Hexagon, Dirana, or ADI; object-oriented software development, and/or algorithms and data structures; low-level device tools such as I2C analyzers and oscilloscopes for analyzing board layouts; and theoretical and practical applications of audio processing algorithms.
• Six (6) years of experience handling large code bases, creating entirely new code, and maintaining existing code; as well as reviewing hardware designs and schematics.
• Three (3) years of experience in designing and developing with C++.
