Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Tasked with enhancing Circle's internal blockchain systems infrastructure to facilitate global tokenization.

• Evaluating requirements, processes, and issues to optimize existing systems and implement modifications.

• Developing and managing scalable microservices that ensure reliable and secure APIs for transferring value and assets across all blockchain and traditional banking protocols.

• Partnering with Product and Engineering teams to design, test, and refine Circle features, including the creation and documentation of system design processes, testing protocols, and quality standards.

• Diagnosing program and system issues to restore normal operations.

• Creating publicly accessible APIs that simplify integration for developers with intricate payment systems.

• Integrating Platform Services with top banks and financial technology solutions.

• Advising management to ensure consensus on system principles.

• Developing the infrastructure needed to deliver exceptional payment experiences, including data sources (SQL or NoSQL), messaging systems, and APIs.

• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of professional software development experience in object-oriented programming languages such as Go or Java.

• A degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline (or equivalent foreign qualification).

• Experience in providing technical leadership to teams of more than 4 in architecture and system design.

• Expertise in one of the following areas: API design, payment processing, or blockchain technology.

• Extensive knowledge and experience in the architecture, design, and deployment of production-quality, scalable software.

• Familiarity with Web3, blockchain, and smart contract business logic.

• Proficiency in RESTful API design and development principles.

• Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.

• Knowledge of container orchestration systems like Kubernetes or EKS, ECS.

• Proficiency in SQL databases and schema design.

• Strong emphasis on coding standards and code quality, with a commitment to maintaining excellent test coverage to support continuous delivery.

• Outstanding communication skills, capable of collaborating with remote teams, sharing ideas, and effectively presenting concepts.
