• Design and develop high-quality APIs and services for the global adaptation of Life360 — services that are essential for safety and genuinely beneficial.
• Collaborate with AI (Claude Code) as a key partner — your main workflow involves coordinating agents to create specifications, generate code and tests, verify outcomes, and conduct reviews.
• Assist in defining and formalizing AI-Native engineering practices for the International team, creating playbooks that the wider organization can implement.
• Work across the complete stack as necessary — delivering polished, high-performing, and dependable experiences to millions of users.
• Work closely with product managers and designers to transform intricate user challenges into elegant, scalable engineering solutions.
• Contribute to architectural choices, code reviews, and foster a culture of craftsmanship and ongoing improvement.
• Engage in on-call rotations and incident management.
• Utilize agentic workflows to significantly enhance the delivery of impactful outcomes — accelerating progress without compromising quality.
• Maintain a high standard for quality from start to finish: you define what "done" means, instrument your work for observability, and consider post-launch performance as part of your responsibilities — not someone else’s issue.
• Mentor fellow team members and contribute to team processes, technical standards, and assist in the evolution of the team’s AI-native engineering practices.
• Ensure performance, reliability, and accessibility across the features you oversee.
• Over 8 years of experience in building and managing high-quality, consumer-scale services.
• More than 1 year of hands-on experience in prompting, evaluating, and developing with LLMs.
• Strong expertise in cloud development using modern Java, Kubernetes, AWS, and streaming technologies.
• Extensive experience with agentic workflows, prompt engineering, context window management, and MCP/function calling.
• A proven history of leveraging AI tools to amplify your own output — not just as an autocomplete aid, but as a true development collaborator.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities — you work effectively with product, design, and platform engineers.
• A genuine enthusiasm for defining what it means to be AI-Native — you’re not just waiting for the guidelines, you want to create them.
• Empathy for our international members - including those using lower-end mobile devices and facing inconsistent network connectivity. Building highly localized experiences is vital to delivering the value of Life360 in global markets.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical field, or equivalent experience.
