Staff Security and Privacy Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct security and privacy assessments of the Brave browser and Brave Search.

• Manage and resolve security-related reports.

• Collaborate closely with various teams to develop privacy-preserving protocols.

• Create and implement innovative security and privacy features.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience (or equivalent) in security or privacy engineering.

• Background in penetration testing and/or security auditing.

• Excellent proficiency in C++, including both implementation and code review.

• Strong understanding of the Web security model.

• Knowledge of data protection principles.

• Comfortable with asynchronous communication in a geographically-distributed software development team.

• Ability to navigate and understand a large, complex, and unfamiliar codebase.

• Proficient with Git and collaboration on GitHub.

• Experience contributing to large open-source projects and/or engaging with open-source communities.

• Proficiency in Web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Skilled in Go and Rust programming languages.

• Experience contributing to other Web browsers.

• Familiarity with the architecture of Chromium, particularly in security aspects.

• Capability to produce clear technical documentation and less technical content for blog posts or public communication.
