Staff Scientist, Imaging Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Conduct research and create cutting-edge AI and non-AI algorithms for applications in coronary CT and fluoroscopy imaging.

• Develop an efficient and robust image processing pipeline to address complex challenges in environments requiring low latency.

• Collaborate with Product and Clinical teams to translate product and clinical needs into algorithmic specifications.

• Work alongside Regulatory Affairs to assist with regulatory submissions (e.g., 510(k), De Novo, PCCP), including producing necessary evidence and documentation.

• Team up with engineering groups to implement AI and non-AI solutions in clinical settings.

• Present findings and strategies to internal stakeholders and leadership through comprehensive technical documentation, presentations, and demonstrations.

• Engage in intellectual property creation through patents and scientific publications.

• Guide junior scientists and promote a culture of technical excellence and scientific integrity.

⛳️ Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Imaging, or a related technical field, along with 5+ years of combined postdoc and/or industry experience; OR a Master’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience.

• Experience in applied AI/deep learning research for medical imaging diagnostics and analysis, traditional image processing algorithms, optical flow analysis, and 2D/3D rigid/deformable image registration.

• Demonstrated history of successful product delivery in the medical imaging sector.

• Strong proficiency in C++ and Python programming languages.

• Experience in developing and utilizing graph processing or graph neural networks (GNN).

• Familiarity with ITK, OpenCV, VTK, CMake, and Slicer is advantageous.

• Previous experience with cardiac motion modeling or tracking is a bonus.

• Exceptional interpersonal, cross-functional, and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
