This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and implement detailed testing strategies across reporting ecosystems.
• Carry out QA strategies encompassing data workflows, pipelines, and semantic models within Microsoft Fabric and Power BI environments.
• Assess Lakehouse and semantic model layers, ensuring data relationships, measures, and DAX calculation accuracy.
• Execute source-to-visual data reconciliation utilizing complex SQL queries against backend data sources.
• Oversee front-end Power BI UI testing, including report layouts, navigation, user permissions, and visual consistency.
• Extract testable requirements from user stories and formulate structured test cases with explicit acceptance criteria.
• Record, monitor, and confirm defects with reproduction steps, severity classification, and supporting evidence across functional, regression, and UAT cycles.
• Evaluate legacy reporting systems in comparison to Microsoft Fabric environments for functional parity and data alignment.
• Perform root cause analysis for data discrepancies.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Developers, and Product Stakeholders to address quality bottlenecks.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• Over 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, with a strong emphasis on data-centric applications, Power BI reporting environments, and intricate data validation.
• Practical experience in testing Power BI reports at the Lakehouse and semantic model layers, including data relationships and validation of DAX expressions.
• Proven proficiency in source-to-visual data reconciliation through advanced SQL queries.
• Solid understanding of QA principles, including structured test cases, defect lifecycle management, and root-cause analysis.
• Hands-on experience in Microsoft Fabric or Azure ecosystems, including data migrations, data pipeline validation, and environment parity assessments.
• Extensive experience with Power BI Service, Power BI UI testing, semantic model layers, data relationships, and DAX validation.
• Advanced SQL skills for backend data validation, source-to-visual reconciliation, and verification of data pipelines.
• Expertise in designing test cases, defining acceptance criteria, reporting defects, conducting root-cause analysis, and executing functional, regression, and UAT testing.
• Practical exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Azure ecosystems, Lakehouse architectures, and advanced Excel.
• Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar testing management tools.
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
• Nice to have: hands-on experience with test automation using Playwright, Selenium, or similar frameworks.
• Nice to have: automated testing methodologies for data integration pipelines and CI/CT practices.
• Nice to have: knowledge of AI-assisted testing or coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
• Nice to have: experience with Azure security protocols, data governance frameworks, or large-scale data migrations to Microsoft Fabric.
