Staff QA Engineer

📋 Description

• Take ownership and enhance Syllo's comprehensive quality assurance strategy.

• Develop scalable QA processes that facilitate quick and reliable releases.

• Establish quality benchmarks, release standards, and testing best practices throughout the organization.

• Consistently improve the measurement, communication, and maintenance of quality.

• Identify opportunities to integrate quality earlier in the development lifecycle through improved tooling, automation, and processes.

• Determine the technical direction for our automated testing strategy.

• Design, create, and sustain automated testing frameworks that integrate smoothly into our CI/CD pipeline.

• Assess and implement tools, frameworks, and architectures that effectively support long-term quality and engineering efficiency.

• Continuously broaden automated test coverage while minimizing manual testing efforts.

• Lead the advancement of our automation capabilities as our product and engineering teams grow.

• Gain an in-depth understanding of customer workflows, product functionalities, and business objectives.

• Approach problems like a customer, proactively identifying edge cases, failure modes, and usability concerns before they reach production.

• Differentiate between genuine release blockers and lower-priority defects, balancing quality with the speed of execution.

• Collaborate with Product to suggest enhancements that improve the customer experience, not just fix bugs.

• Advocate for quality across Engineering, Product, Customer Success, Product Operations, and other cross-functional teams.

• Coordinate testing initiatives across teams while ensuring clear ownership and accountability.

• Collaborate with Customer Success to replicate complex customer issues, convert them into actionable test cases, and verify fixes prior to release.

• Influence engineering and product teams to consistently enhance quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Evaluate and implement AI-driven workflows that boost testing efficiency, including generating test cases, maintaining automation, accelerating exploratory testing, analyzing failures, identifying regression risks, and increasing release confidence.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance with substantial expertise in automation.

• Experience leading QA with a high level of independence in a dynamic software environment.

• Proven track record in designing and executing scalable QA processes and automation strategies.

• Strong product instincts with the capability to comprehend complex workflows and advocate for an outstanding user experience.

• Experience promoting quality across cross-functional teams.

• Significant experience with modern automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.

• Experience testing AI or LLM-powered products.

• Experience in establishing or significantly enhancing a QA function in a growing startup.

• Proficiency in programming languages.

• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.

• Experience with API, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.

• Familiarity with contemporary bug tracking and test management tools.

• Experience implementing AI-assisted testing workflows.
