This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take charge of defining, maintaining, and ensuring the integrity of Oura’s essential business metrics across product, finance, and go-to-market areas.
• Create and uphold a unified "metrics layer" that guarantees a single source of truth for both executive and operational decision-making.
• Clarify ambiguities in metric definitions and foster alignment among senior stakeholders when conflicting interpretations arise.
• Ensure that critical KPIs are consistently defined, reproducible, and trustworthy throughout the organization.
• Collaborate with the CFO’s office and FP&A to define, document, and deliver the financial KPIs featured in Board and executive reporting, including but not limited to (Revenue, Gross profit/margin, adjusted EBITDA, Net Income, Units Sold, Warranty Rate, Membership, Engagement, Retention, and various corporate metrics).
• Define each financial KPI as a governed, audit-grade data product—complete with locked definitions, a single owner, quality tests, full lineage to source systems, formal approval from key stakeholders, and a documented change-management process.
• Treat essential data pipelines and metrics as production-grade systems with established reliability standards.
• Set up monitoring, validation, and escalation processes for data issues impacting tier-1 business metrics.
• Implement structured incident management processes for data breaks, metric regressions, and reporting inconsistencies.
• Enhance end-to-end data quality across systems of record, transformation layers, and reporting tools.
• Ensure that analytics produced during external audit cycles—such as documentation, auditor walkthroughs of lineage, and adherence to SOX-aligned controls and segregation-of-duties practices—are accurately reflected in how financial metrics are generated.
• Coordinate large-scale initiatives that encompass Data Engineering, Analytics, Finance, GTM, Product, Operations, and Technology.
• Manage intricate dependencies across business and technical systems to ensure a consistent flow and logic of data.
• Establish governance forums and decision frameworks that guarantee clarity, accountability, and prompt resolution of tradeoffs.
• Transform fragmented systems into cohesive operating models that facilitate scalable decision-making.
• Design data utilization strategies that drive planning, forecasting, and resource allocation across the organization.
• Collaborate with Finance and BizOps to ensure that planning systems are based on consistent, reliable data.
• Build mechanisms that link operational metrics to strategic decision-making and prioritization by executives.
• Enable quicker, more confident decisions by enhancing signal clarity and minimizing ambiguity in core business data.
• Translate complex technical and systems challenges into clear, actionable narratives for executives.
• Provide structured updates regarding data health, system integrity, and transformation progress.
• Promote organizational adoption of standardized metrics, reporting systems, and data definitions.
• Influence senior leaders without formal authority to ensure alignment on maintaining "one version of the truth."
• Possess 10–12+ years of experience in strategy consulting (MBB preferred) and/or corporate strategy, BizOps, or data strategy with a focus on enterprise planning or decision systems.
• Exhibit exceptional executive presence and the ability to drive clarity, alignment, and decision-making without formal authority.
• Have developed operating models and cross-functional systems in high-growth environments, merging strategic thinking with thorough operational rigor.
• Have designed and scaled systems from first principles—not merely operated or inherited existing processes.
• Function with AI fluency and leverage modern tools to expedite analysis, automate insight generation, and enhance organizational decision velocity.
• Have collaborated directly with C-suite executives on portfolio prioritization, resource allocation, and enterprise planning.
• Experience in consumer tech, subscription businesses, or digital health is highly advantageous.
