Staff Product Designer – Grant OS

Posted Jun 8

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of GrantOS from start to finish.

• Lead the design efforts across the GrantOS Platform and Core, overseeing the process from discovery and research to shipping and iterations.

• Influence the way grant professionals engage with Instrumentl as a platform, focusing on task management, reporting, integrations, and the data relationships that encompass the entire grant lifecycle.

• Spearhead product development in uncharted territories where the problems are not clearly defined, and assist in clarifying those challenges.

• Establish the interaction patterns and foundational design system that will be utilized by all other product areas.

• Elevate the quality standards across Instrumentl's design system and mentor fellow designers.

• Serve as a force multiplier for the wider design team, influencing organizational operations.

• Independently conduct and synthesize user research, translating vague user requirements into distinct product direction.

• Collaborate as a strategic partner with your PM and engineering lead, providing insights and fostering alignment across product, engineering, and go-to-market teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of product design experience, including significant time at a senior or staff level.

• A proven history of managing complex B2B product areas from start to finish, including multi-entity workflows that involve data relationships, user roles, and cross-team collaboration.

• Experience in zero-to-one product ownership: you have initiated from a problem rather than a specification and made sound decisions amidst uncertainty.

• Strong systems thinking and proficiency in Figma/prototyping, with extensive involvement in user research from planning to synthesis, and the capacity to influence product vision rather than merely executing it.

• Background in B2B SaaS, particularly in complex or enterprise-adjacent systems.

• Familiarity with agentic or AI-driven product interfaces, with a demonstrated use of AI tools in your design workflow.

• Experience with design systems: defining patterns rather than simply applying them.

• Exposure to compliance, data integrity, or workflow-intensive domains.

• Experience in mentoring or coaching other design professionals.

• Knowledge of the nonprofit or social impact sector.

🏝️ Benefits

• Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance fully covered for employees (50% for dependents).

• Generous paid time off, including parental leave.

• 401(k) plan.

• Company-provided laptop and home-office allowance.

• Bi-annual company retreats.
