This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Oversee the design of products and experiences that utilize AI to enhance member interactions throughout their health journey.
• Establish interaction frameworks for providing intelligent guidance, recommendations, nudges, reflections, progress feedback, transitions, and human-in-the-loop assistance.
• Define the collaboration between AI and human care teams across both digital and service platforms, ensuring a cohesive, reliable, clinically appropriate, and easily comprehensible experience.
• Convert concepts such as motivation, trust, empathy, safety, personalization, consent, ongoing care, and escalation into specific design patterns that teams can implement, test, and expand.
• Regularly prototype using contemporary design and AI tools, which include conversational flows, simulated experiences, prompt-based prototypes, coded prototypes, service prototypes, and interactive ideas.
• Collaborate with Product, AI, Data Science, Engineering, Clinical, Research, Content, Care Platform, and Design leaders to harmonize user requirements, business objectives, technical capabilities, and care processes.
• Assist in determining when intelligence should be seamlessly integrated versus clearly presented, how personalization is conveyed, and how recommendations or subsequent actions are communicated.
• Contribute to the development of prompt, agent, voice, tone, and conversational experience frameworks in collaboration with AI, content, product, and engineering teams.
• Help establish evaluation processes for AI-driven experiences, focusing on how teams measure clarity, trust, usefulness, safety, understanding, follow-through, and member value.
• Utilize service blueprinting, journey mapping, and systems thinking to design experiences for both members and internal care teams.
• Work alongside partners in behavioral science, personalization, data science, machine learning, and care operations to convert complex inputs into actionable experience patterns.
• Produce high-quality design deliverables, including journey maps, service blueprints, flows, wireframes, prototypes, interaction models, experience principles, and high-fidelity interface designs.
• Persuade senior stakeholders with clear narratives, strong design justification, and a comprehensive understanding of member needs, business goals, technical limitations, and care delivery contexts.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in product design, UX design, experience design, service design, interaction design, or related disciplines.
• A portfolio showcasing strong product strategy, interaction design, systems thinking, prototyping, and high-quality execution across intricate digital products.
• Experience in designing AI-enhanced, personalized, data-driven, conversational, recommendation-based, or intelligent product experiences.
• Background in designing across various surfaces, workflows, users, service interactions, or moments of human handoff.
• Strong skills in product, interaction, and visual design, with the capability to translate ambiguous concepts into tangible prototypes, flows, systems, and clear design artifacts.
• Familiarity with AI tools within your design process to explore ideas, prototype, synthesize research, generate concepts, evaluate directions, or create lightweight experiences.
• Experience in designing for trust, safety, explainability, consent, escalation, sensitive interventions, clinical appropriateness, or human-in-the-loop support.
• Proficiency in developing voice and tone systems, content patterns, branded assistants, intelligent guidance systems, or conversational product experiences.
• Experience in service blueprinting, journey mapping, systems thinking, or designing for both member-facing and internal care team experiences.
• Experience collaborating with teams in behavioral science, personalization, data science, machine learning, or care operations.
• A thoughtful viewpoint on how intelligent products should communicate, behave, build trust, and support users during various care moments.
