Staff Performance Engineer, Trading Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish the technical direction for performance across Helius' most latency-sensitive systems, affecting architecture and engineering standards throughout the company.

• Analyze, optimize, and enhance the low-level Rust services that support traders and financial institutions.

• Create systems tailored for low-latency environments where every microsecond counts.

• Drive cross-team efforts to pinpoint and resolve systemic performance issues.

• Take full ownership of foundational systems from start to finish, ensuring they remain simple, reliable, and easy to operate.

• Guide engineers and elevate the standards of performance engineering and operational excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in systems-level engineering using Rust or C++.

• Extensive experience in tuning high-throughput, latency-sensitive systems.

• Proven track record of leading complex, cross-team technical projects and delivering robust systems.

• Strong understanding of hardware, operating systems, and network performance.

• Capability to take ownership of challenging technical problems and make clear decisions for stakeholders.

• A passion for pushing performance boundaries rather than settling for "good enough".
