This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Take charge of delivering optical subsystems to the instrument program.
β’ Oversee and manage detailed optical error budgets along with performance metrics.
β’ Work in collaboration with systems engineering to assist in the management of cross-functional technical budgets.
β’ Establish and drive the strategic direction for the assembly and testing of optical instruments.
β’ Provide support for functional, performance, and environmental testing at both subsystem and instrument levels.
β’ Advocate for continuous enhancement of testing methodologies and best practices.
β’ Ph.D. with over 5 years of experience in developing imaging systems and infrared remote sensing instruments; or M.S. with more than 8 years of industry experience; or B.S. with a decade of industry experience.
β’ Proficient in optical design and analysis tools (Zemax, Code V, FRED).
β’ Significant hands-on experience in precision optical metrology, AI&T execution, and root cause analysis.
β’ Software skills in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C++).
β’ Proven technical leadership and project management capabilities.
β’ Preference for candidates with the ability to obtain security clearance.
